Clearwater National Forest in Idaho

 

From the pristine lakes of the panhandle to the highest peak in Central Idaho, to the Snake River Plain in the south, Idaho’s terrain will leave an impression. You can cheer for the Idaho Steelheads hockey team, the Boise Hawks or Idaho Falls Chukars minor league baseball teams and Boise State Broncos football team. And racing fans have numerous speedways to choose from, including the NASCAR-sanctioned Magic Valley Speedway. Golfers have challenging greens with stunning landscapes as backdrops throughout the state.

Likewise, you’ll be amazed at the number of cultural, historical, and educational attractions you can find here. Science buffs can enjoy places like the Faulkner Planetarium at The Herrett Center for Arts & Science in Twin Falls. Local history museums dot the landscape, including notable local museums like Jerome County Historical Museum. You can also learn more about the Basque communities at Boise’s The Basque Museum & Cultural Center or find engaging information about the Coeur d'Alene Tribe and the Cataldo Mission at the Museum of North Idaho.

You can view exciting contemporary art at the Boise Art Museum or examples of visual arts at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho. The performing arts are thriving here in Idaho through major venues like the historic Colonial Theater in Idaho Falls, the Stephens Performing Arts Center in Pocatello, and The Morrison Performing Arts Center.

Kids will love visiting the Pocatello Zoo and the Aquarium of Boise and Zoo Boise.
